SME-750II Dual-Stencil Pneumatic Cleaner — Two Stencils Per Cycle
Blocked stencil apertures cause paste misprint and rework. The SME-750II cleans two stencils in one pneumatic cycle — double throughput, no electric power near flammable solvent.

Stencil cleaning is easy to overlook and expensive to get wrong. Blocked apertures cause paste misprint and rework, hand cleaning varies from shift to shift, and solvent waste quietly eats the consumables budget.
The SME-750II Dual-Stencil Pneumatic Cleaning Machine from Southern Machinery changes that math: two independent cleaning units wash, filter, recycle and air-dry two stencils in one cycle, with no electric power at all.
The hidden cost of manual stencil cleaning
- Wasted cleaning liquid — manual cleaning and poor filtration waste solvent and cleaning liquid.
- Chemical exposure — hand contact with solvent puts operators at risk.
- Blocked apertures — residue left in stencil openings causes paste misprint and rework.
- Inconsistent results — manual quality depends on the operator, the batch and the shift.
- Slow one-by-one cleaning — cleaning stencils one at a time bottlenecks changeover.
- Fire and detonation risk — electric cleaning equipment near flammable solvents carries ignition risk.
A dual-stencil pneumatic cleaner removes most of these risks at once: load the stencils, press start, and the machine does the washing, filtration and drying.
The Dual-Stencil Throughput Check
Run this before specifying a stencil cleaner — it costs nothing:
- How many stencils per day? High-mix EMS lines with multiple changes per shift need capacity, not a single bay.
- What stencil types? Solder paste, red glue and copper masks may all run — mixed cycles favor two independent units.
- Is power limited at the station? If flammable solvents are involved, an all-pneumatic drive removes the ignition source.
- What floor space do you have? Doubling throughput without doubling the machine is the whole point of dual units.
Answer those four and you know whether a single or dual-stencil cleaner fits.
The Vehicle: two units, one cycle
The SME-750II is a full-pneumatic stencil cleaning machine for SMT lines cleaning solder paste stencils, red glue stencils and copper masks:
- Load two stencils — up to two stencils (750 × 750 × 40 mm reference) into the two independent units and close the inner-lock safety door.
- 360° spray wash — upper and lower rotary rods spray solvent onto both sides of each stencil, keeping stencil tension stable.
- Filter and recycle — 3-level filtration (1 mm net, 20 µm bag, 1 µm cotton per unit) recycles the liquid with low consumption.
- Air blow dry — compressed air blow-dries both stencils; open the door and they are ready for the line.
Because the machine is driven entirely by compressed air — no electric power — there is no electric ignition source near flammable cleaning solvents, and it runs where power at the cleaning point is limited. Reference cycle: 3–5 min clean, 3–5 min dry per stencil. All values are from the SME-750II brochure and remain subject to final technical confirmation against your stencils and cleaning liquid.
Where it earns its place
- High-mix EMS lines with frequent changeovers and multiple stencil changes per shift.
- Factories cleaning red glue or copper mask stencils alongside standard solder paste stencils, including mixed cycles.
- Lines using flammable solvents where a fully pneumatic design removes an ignition source.
- Plants with limited power at the cleaning station, since the machine only needs compressed air.
- Quality-driven automotive, medical and industrial lines where print defects are expensive to rework.
It is an offline cleaning station that works with any SMT printer; a clean, tension-stable stencil protects the first process, so downstream placement and reflow see fewer misprint-related stops.
Re-run the check as volume climbs
Stencil count and liquid choice change with every new program. Re-run the Dual-Stencil Throughput Check when stencil volume climbs or a new paste arrives: the single-bay cleaner that fit last quarter may need a dual unit now. Reviewing it at each changeover keeps print quality from silently slipping.
