Solder paste printing sets the ceiling on SMT yield — get the deposit wrong and every downstream operation, from pick and place to reflow, inherits the defect. On long-format boards (LED strips, power-supply panels) the problem is worse: small desktop printers can't span the board, and hand printing drifts with every stroke.
