Most cleaning machines sit after soldering. The SQC250A sits before it — and that position is the whole point. It is a 250 mm-class PCB surface cleaning machine placed between the loader and the stencil printer, removing dust, fibers, solder balls, fingerprints and static charge from bare boards before a single gram of solder paste is deposited. The contamination you let through at this step becomes a printing defect, a tombstone, or a solder ball that fails AOI three stations later.

Why contamination at the front costs the most
By the time a board reaches AOI, a particle that landed on the bare surface has already done its damage. It blocks aperture filling at the printer, lifts a component into a tombstone at reflow, or hides under a solder ball that trips inspection. Rework after reflow is the expensive kind — you are undoing a soldered, placed, heated board instead of wiping a bare one.
Bare boards collect this contamination long before printing: during storage, destacking, magazine unload, and handling. A clean board surface means cleaner aperture filling, fewer print defects, and a higher first-pass yield — and that is far cheaper than fixing it downstream.
The Pre-Print Cleanliness Gate
Score your front-of-line risk before adding a cleaning station. The gate uses your own baseline:
- Count your print defects. Are you seeing aperture fill issues, tombstones or solder balls that trace back to board-surface contamination rather than paste or stencil?
- Check your incoming boards. What do bare boards carry when they arrive from storage, destackers or magazine unloaders — dust, fibers, loose solder balls, fingerprints?
- Plan the position. Cleaning belongs between the loader and the stencil printer — before paste, not after solder.
- Define static control. An antistatic inlet and outlet stop ESD from attracting new particles and protect sensitive components downstream.

The Vehicle: how the SQC250A cleans
The SQC250A is an inline station between loader and printer. It uses a brush-roller combined design — brush and roller-brush modes switch synchronously depending on the work, with a modular drawer-type construction for easy maintenance:
- Anti-static, high-density brushes loosen particles from the board surface.
- Sticky (tacky) rollers lift the loosened contamination off the board.
- Sticky dust paper collects it so it is trapped instead of re-deposited.
- Antistatic inlet and outlet remove static charge and prevent re-attraction of particles.
- Single-side cleaning support for the top surface — confirm if your process needs both sides.

The SQC250A is an inline station at the front of the SMT line:
- Bare PCBs feed from the loader / magazine unloader or destacker.
- The SQC250A brush and sticky-roller clean the top surface and remove static.
- Boards enter the stencil printer for solder paste deposition.
- Paste-printed boards proceed to chip placement, then reflow.
- THT boards continue to wave / selective soldering or auto insertion.
It is a 250 mm-class machine — boards larger than 250 mm wide need a wider-class unit.
